Quark Publishing System (QPS) 8.1.6.0 now available!

Quark is pleased to announce the availability of QPS 8.1.6, an update to QPS 8.1, together with QuarkXPress 8.1.6, QuarkCopyDesk 8.1.6, and QuarkXPress Server 8.1.6.

Please note, if you have not yet updated your QPS to version 8.1, 8.13, or 8.14, before you update to version 8.1.6, you must first install or update to QPS 8.1 or 8.1.4. A detailed description on how to perform the upgrade is provided in the attached "Readme" document (find below). QPS 8.1.6 also provides installers for new, clean installations.

This release further optimizes stability and quality, and besides fixing important issues, which are listed in the attached document "Known and Resolved Issues" (find below).

The 8.1.6 release provides some exciting new features:

1. Images can now be attached to master pages and templates, making template-based production workflows faster and more productive.
2. The QPS Web Editor now allows importing text from Microsoft Word files (.doc, rtf, and txt), instead of copy/paste, which transfers formatting such as colors, font sizes, and line breaks into the Web editor.

QPS 8.1.6 is available as a free download for QPS customers (with current maintenance) and has been posted on our customer/partner site:
