TCP-IP XT

Control of QuarkXPress using TCP/IP network

Control QuarkXPress over a TCP/IP network like it is the internet with the XTension TCP/IP XT. If this XTension is activated, every computer has access to QuarkXPress within the network, works over the network and sends commands to QuarkXPress. All QuarkXPress functions can be activated with an extended command language. A command can be sent to open a QuarkXPress formula file and load the content of a database into a text or picture frame. Besides creating documents it is possible to search documents and save their informations in a database. This is extremely useful when doing last-minute corrections in a QuarkXPress document.

The extended command language of TCP/IP XT is based on XT Batch from Techno Design, which is used already several years to automate database supported catalog production.

With TCP/IP XT QuarkXPress can be controlled from your preferred development environment, independent from operating system. This XTension was already in use under Visual Basic (Windows NT) with the Ektos Internet orientated database (Windows NT) and in Perl scripts under Linux. TCP/IP XT is a powerful devolper tool for database publishing. Many users know how to work with TCP/IP. With TCP/IP XT and standard applications like Visual Basic or Perl QuarkXPress can be automatized and controlled over an own network and/or the internet. With QuarkXPress, de facto standard in graphic arts industry, and TCP/IP, standard in network protocols, the best of both worlds is now combined.
