SubStation is a text replacement tool for ASCII texts with a comprehensive 'Search and Replace' functionality. In just a few steps you update your documents' contents as well as their appearance. Simple raw text files turn into appealing documents in no time!

The benefit of Substation:

  • SubStation searches for character strings and replaces them with others.

  • Multiple 'Search and Replace' commands can be combined in conversion tables (sets) and executed in one single step. These conversion tables can be saved in set files for further use.

  • Replacing can be performed either in the InDesign resp. QuarkXPress document or during the import of a text file into a text box in the document.

  • SubStation supports tagging with tagged text. This allows to use the replacement process to assign search terms with e.g. character styles, which are then interpreted by the layout program. Thus you can generate formatted documents from raw ASCII texts in one single step.

  • SubStation can create anchored text and picture boxes.

  • SubStation offers a wide range of options for controlling search results and replacements. You may use, e.g. wildcards as replacement characters for other characters.

  • Wildcard search hits can be stored in variables and returned during replacement.
