Support for Adobe InDesign with InCopy

With QPS® XTensions® for Adobe® InDesign®, you can use QuarkXPress® with QuarkCopyDesk® and Adobe InDesign with InCopy® in a single workflow system, accommodating designers and customers who use either application, driving greater efficiency, and reducing costs.

Adobe Illustrator Support

QPS 8 now supports the native Adobe Illustrator file format as picture asset by letting users preview .ai files in the QPS XTensions software for QuarkXPress and QuarkCopyDesk, as well as in the QPS Connect Client and the Web Hub


QuarkXPress 8 Compatibility

Through compatibility with QuarkXPress 8, help your creative professionals work faster and smarter; create print, Web, and Flash® design using one software application; and take control of their design so they can push their concepts further. QPS 8 also offers improved operating system-level Drag & Drop in QuarkXPress.


QuarkCopyDesk 8 Compatibility

  • QuarkCopyDesk 8 "inherited" the new, intuitive interface UI from QuarkXPress 8, allowing content editors to work faster with fewer clicks
  • QuarkCopyDesk 8 also features the new hanging character typographic tools that were introduced by QuarkXPress 8
  • QuarkCopyDesk 8 allows to maintain East Asian text and special East Asian character attributes in articles
  • The new page grid and text grid, which is part of QuarkXPress´ 8 East Asian language support, is now visible in the QuarkCopyDesk WYSIWYG editing mode
  • Like QuarkXPress 8, QuarkCopyDesk 8 support the universal file format, allowing users to choose dictionaries and hyphenation in more than 30 languages, edit and print QuarkCopyDesk 8 articles created anywhere in the world, and tap into easy-to-use, professional-grade Asian typography
  • QPS 8 also offers improved, operating system-level Drag & Drop in QuarkCopyDesk´s WYSIWYG editing mode


Compatibility with QuarkXPress Server 8

Global file format:

  • Open any file authored in any language edition of QuarkXPress 8, uniquely enabling global publishing, and review and approval workflows

Designer–Driven Typography:

  • Use Hanging Punctuation and punctuation margin alignment presets to achieve smooth-looking margins with little effort

QPS Web Hub East Asian support

  • Support for Rubi – Rubi text clarifies the meaning or pronunciation of base text.
  • Use the Group Characters dialog box (Style menu) to include a group of horizontal characters, such as Roman characters, within a vertical line of text. Grouped characters always display horizontally.)
  • Web Hub maintains East Asian text and special East Asian character attributes in articles

Improved Language Support

  • QPS 8 now provides Japanese user interface. Users now can switch the entire interface (menus and dialogs) to any of the 13 supported languages. (U.S. English, International English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Russian, Polish, and Japanese)
  • In addition, users can use hyphenation and spell checking to create content in over 30 languages.
